Gold Star Rating System

In an effort to assist students of the Waterloo campaign in their search for new information, 1815 Limited have incorporated a gold star rating system in the on-line archive to indicate the quality and value of the various files available. The gold star system has been applied as follows:

A five gold star rating is awarded to files which contain content that can be described as being of vital importance to students of the Waterloo campaign. The information is generally new to the English language and adds greatly to our knowledge of the part played by an individual, a contingent, a battalion or regiment during the campaign.

A four star rating is awarded to files which contain content that can be described as being of outstanding importance to students of the Waterloo campaign. The information is often new to the English language and adds considerably to our knowledge of the part played by an individual, a contingent, a battalion or regiment during the campaign.

A three star rating is awarded to files which contain content that can be described as being of worthwhile importance to students of the Waterloo campaign. The information is sometimes new to the English language and adds something to our knowledge of the part played by an individual, a contingent, a battalion or regiment during the campaign.

A two star rating is awarded to files which contain content that can be described as being of no significant importance to students of the Waterloo campaign. The information is invariably known in the English language and adds very little to our knowledge of the part played by an individual, a contingent, a battalion or regiment during the campaign.
