Material that will be available on the Waterloo campaign
In the coming months a host of new and exciting items will be published by 1815 Limited, including books containing translated contemporary letters and accounts, files within the on-line archive with unpublished material written by a number of officers and men who were present, and newly commissioned artwork depicting the extraordinary events.

The first of two volumes on the Hanoverian contingent at Waterloo will be available from July 2010. Containing a host of contemporary letters and reports which have been translated from the handwritten manuscripts, the book also features ten pages of full colour illustrations by the renowned military artist Gerry Embleton.

3rd Foot Guards Volume One |

Re-scheduled for publication in October 2010, the book is the first of two volumes on the 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards and provides the most detailed analysis in the English language of the events at Hougoumont during the fighting on Sunday 18th June 1815. The wealth of new material is enhanced by twenty full colour maps.

Contemporary Illustrations |

Numerous contemporary paintings and illustrations of the Allied troops which formed the army of occupation were made by French artists following the conclusion of the Waterloo campagn. Many of these have been traced and will be made available within the on-line archive to those interested in the uniforms of the period.

A significant part of the study has been the examination of the uniforms, weapons and equipment of each of the contingents in the Waterloo campaign. 1815 Limited has been fortunate to commission Gerry Embleton, who will be illustrating the new series of books being published and numerous items from within the on-line archive.
