The lengthy report, which is dated the 9th December 1824, provides a highly detailed description of the part played by the Bremen Light Infantry Regiment in the campaign, and particularly during the fighting in the early hours of the 17th June 1815 at Les Quatre Bras: 'At daybreak firing began on the left of the Duke of York Light Infantry Battalion. The thrid company rejoined the battalion immediately. The enemty tried on several occasions to take the position the battalion held on a small height behind a hedge in a marshy field, but they were thrown back repeatedly and then pursued by small detachments for three or four hundred paces, until they reached the trees standing on the heights opposite. The detachments rejoined the battalion. Because the enemy approached to a position very close to the right wing of the battalion on a number of occasions, many officers and soldiers were wounded and several were killed.' The entire contents of this file are available in the on-line archive.
