This file contains a translated and typeset copy of a report by Albrecht von Estorff, the former Colonel commanding the 1st Hanoverian Cavarly Brigade, which has been taken from a contemporary German printed source.

The lengthy but undated report gives a highly detailed account of the role of the various cavalry regiments with the 1st Hanoverian Cavalry Brigade which were under the command of Baron Albrecht von Estorff, and in particular the events of the 17th to the 19th June 1815: 'In the afternoon of the 17th June the order was received to move to Halle [sic] to join the corps commanded by H.R.H. Prince Frederik of Orange, by passing through Ath and Enghien. The brigade arrived there in the morning of the 18th. This corps, which numbered between 19,000 and 20,000 men, included, apart from the 1st Hanoverian Cavalry Brigade, the division under the command of Lieutenant-General Colville, the Indian Brigade [sic], the Dutch division commanded by Lieutenant-General Stedmann and three Dutch cavalry regiments, and it was positioned so as to observe the road from Halle through Enghien, and to Braine-le-Comte.'
