Based upon extensive research in the British archives, the book describes the contemporary system of army supply and provides a highly detailed explanation of the regulations adopted in 1812 following recommendations from the Board of General Officers. Particular attention has been given to the Light Infantry, and with the aid of artefacts recently recovered from the battlefield  and various extant items from  family and private collections, the study depicts a number of prominent individuals from the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards, including Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Dashwood, Captain George Evelyn, Serjeant Bruce McGregor and Private Matthew Clay. The book also provides considerable new information on the Colours carried by the Guards during the campaign, and  by the 3rd Regiment during the Battle of Waterloo. With twenty pages of full colour plates and a wealth of notes and appendices, the book is an indispensible source of reference.
